It seems the visage of your DAD has been unfortunately torn off the picture in the fracas of your fumble, but YOUR NEIGHBOR has survived unscathed. He is his closest friend and workplace confidant, and have known each other for as long as you can remember. They are always working on some kind of project together, be it some kind of hands-on creative endeavour, or some shady machinations and plots. Oh, how they love their plots.

Either that, or just enjoying one another's company, you suppose. They practically raised you together!
